Intensive roofs are comparable to normal gardens, also known as a roof garden or roof top garden, some are so sophisticated you may not think you are on a roof. A much greater depth of growing medium is required (over 150mm) to support a variety of vegetation such as small trees, plants, lawns, shrubs and perennials, the roof garden requires regular professional maintenance and advanced irrigation systems. The possibilities for roof top gardens are endless, hard landscaping, pathways, ponds and even play equipment are all common sights on an intensive roof.
